Install the KinSafe Browser Extension

Download the ZIP and load it as an unpacked/temporary extension.

Download

  1. Download the ZIP: kinsafe-extension.zip
  2. Extract it. You should see a folder named extension.

Chrome / Edge / Brave (Chromium)

  1. Open the extensions page:
    • Chrome: chrome://extensions
    • Edge: edge://extensions
    • Brave: brave://extensions
  2. Turn on Developer mode.
  3. Click Load unpacked and select the extracted extension folder.

Firefox

  1. Open about:debugging → This Firefox.
  2. Click Load Temporary Add-on….
  3. Select manifest.json inside the extracted extension folder.
  4. Note: Temporary add-ons are removed when Firefox restarts.

Permissions

KinSafe requests tabs, storage, and <all_urls> to detect risky sites and report browsing activity to the local KinSafe app. No data is sent to the cloud unless you explicitly enable it in the app.
